Selena Gomez Cancels Dome Show Due to Flood Damage

The cancelled concerts at the Scotiabank Saddledome continues.  The next concert to get cancelled and not postponed is Selena Gomez's 'Stars Dance Tour' which was scheduled at the Dome on August 16.  The Saddledome, which still trying to recover from the flood damage it sustained from the historical June floods that flooded downtown Calgary & the surrounding area, has no date set when it will reopen.

Despite this bad news for local Gomez fans,  Lethbridge is reaping the benefits of the cancelled show.  Live Nation has just announced they are moving Selena Gomez's concert to Lethbridge. 

For those who already bought tickets online or by phone for the Calgary show will be refunded automatically beginning today, while those who bought in person from the Saddledome box office can get their refunds from the Jubilee Auditorium box office during regular Box Office hours. Everyone who had purchased for the Calgary date will also be given the opportunity to buy pre-sale tickets for the Lethbridge show, with information being sent to them directly or available here www.facebook.com/livenationalberta.

Tickets for the Lethbridge show go onsale FRIDAY JULY 12 @ 10am. at livenation.com or by Phone via Enmax Box Office at (403)-329-7328.  Prices ranging from $26, $40.50, $50.50 and $90.50 (plus service charges). And in better news, partial proceeds from the event will go to the Canadian Red Cross to support the Alberta Flood Relief.

The Calgary Stampede has just issued a Press Release stating that ALL Stampede Concerts taking place at the Scotiabank Saddledome have been Cancelled, due to flood damage.  The press release is below.

We regret to inform fans that the four Stampede concerts scheduled in the Saddledome cannot proceed as scheduled due to the damages the facility suffered during the recent flooding. The concerts that were scheduled are:

Carly Rae Jepsen – Wednesday, July 10

Tim McGraw – Thursday, July 11

Dixie Chicks – Friday July 12  

KISS – Saturday, July 13

We understand that this news is disappointing to fans and we’re disappointed also - we wanted to present our guests and fans with an awesome concert experience.

It became evident yesterday to both the Stampede and the Flames that the services necessary for a proper concert experience for fans and for the artists just weren't available given the current status and limitations of the building.

Construction trades have been working very hard on a number of fronts simultaneously including addressing issues related to electrical power, potable water, air conditioning, air quality, and personal safety. Ultimately, due to the flood, it just isn’t feasible to go ahead on July 10.

Given the size of the four shows, and that they are all intended for indoor set-ups with tailored effects and lighting, there was no feasible alternative to host any one of the shows at another Calgary venue during Stampede.

Ticket holders should hold on to their tickets. All ticket holders will still receive admission to Stampede on the day of their concert by showing their concert tickets. We are hoping to reschedule these shows at a later date and we’ll know more about potential rescheduling opportunities after Stampede.

Ticketholders should continue to check this site and Ticketmaster’s websites for rescheduling updates and/or refund information.  

The 2013 Coca-Cola Stage Lineup Has Been Revealed ..

The Coca-Cola Stage lineup for the 2013 Calgary Stampede was revealed on Thursday night and there is definitely a mix of all music genres.

Before making the big announcement via a promotional video at Flames Central, organizers of the Calgary Stampede flew in two mystery bands on their Coca-Cola Stage roster to perform at the event. Those bands were Jaffray B.C's own Dean Brody and Toronto's Down with Webster. Once the crowd was all hyped up and anxious with excitement.. the full lineup was revealed.

Selena Gomez Calgary Bound This Summer!

Selena Gomez just released her "Stars Dance Tour" dates and Calgary is at the top of list of cities that will see her first before the United States.

Gomez will play the Saddledome on Friday August 16 at 7:00pm and her special guest will be announced at a later date.  We'll post that information when it comes available.

Tickets go on-sale Friday May 3 @ 10 am. (MST) via Ticketmaster.ca.  You can purchase them HERE..
