Is the End of the World coming in 2012 as some IHC (Institute for Human Continuity) TV commercials are stating? The answer is probably not. The commercials above are actually being released by Sony Pictures to create hype for one of its new movies entitled "2012". The commercials say that the world is coming to an end on Dec. 21, 2012 and that the IHC has been developed to prepare the public for that big day. Why 2012 you may ask?
You see the Mayan Calender ends on Dec 21, 2012, and many believe that the world will end. There isn't much information regarding what the Mayans thought would occur in 2012, but the consensus of opinion and proof of historic evidence is that there will be great change. To some people this means a positive, spiritual change. Others consider that a catastrophic event may have been predicted.
So your probably wondering what possible could happen to wipe out man kind? Well there could be a geomagnetic reversal, asteroid strikes, or a supernova which is a huge burst of radiation from the sun.
