It's SCREAMFEST Time...

ScreamFest has now opened its haunted houses and scary entertainment in Calgary this past weekend, but Edmonton will have to wait until next week for its opening (Oct. 21).  Here's what you can expect at the Calgary and Edmonton Screamfest event.

ScreamFest Calgary & Edmonton has 6 haunted houses to choose from with your general admission.  Although there is only 5, you get to go into one a second time. They are as follows:

CALGARY Haunted Houses:

• What Lurks in the Dark
• Scary Tales (in 3D)
• Lucifer's Labyrinth
• Area 51
• Reapers and Grim

EDMONTON Haunted Houses:

• Terror Under the Big Top
• Nuclear Nightmare
• The Black Hole
• Bates Motel
• Saint Anne's Hospital

If that is not enough to scare your boots off, there are also 2 optional haunted houses run by charity.   These haunted houses cost $3 and go towards the Kidney Foundation, which is an excellent cause to support.  They are as follows:

Calgary:

• Maze of Madness
• Buried Alive

Edmonton:

• The M.A.D. House
• Buried Alive

ScreamFest Calgary & Edmonton will also have various scary entertainment nightly, from people swallowing swords, magicians, stilt walkers, contorionists, fire spinners, freak shows and more.  Check out ScreamFest website for nightly show details.

Carnival games and concession booths will also be on the grounds.  Games cost $3 or use your "Killer Cash" which you can purchase at the admissions gate.  Details in the admission section below or at Screamfest website.

a Souvenirs shop is also on site if you like some scary memorabilia.
