The show will do a total of four shows from P.E.I at a tune of $1 million dollars to the tax payers. But Brenda Gallant, director of marketing communication for the Department of Tourism told the CBC, "It's a very small amount to pay for the amount it's going to bring back."
"Prince Edward Island will be top of mind for people who may never have heard of us before."
Last year Live with Regis and Kelly visited Niagara Falls and Joel Noden, executive director of revenue for the Niagara Parks Commission, where the shows was broadcasting from, told the CBC that the investment did pay off. That summer the park saw a 10 per cent increase in tourism, bringing in visitors from as far south as Texas.
The four shows will be aired from July 12-15 from Confederation Landing Park in Charlottetown.
Hmmm...I am thinking the people from the Calgary Stampede & Exhibition should bring the show to event next year...just imagine the returns in exposure, attendance, and advertising.
