It was on this day , Presley was found unconscious in his palatial home called “Graceland” in Memphis, and was pronounced dead in a hospital. The local medical examiner blamed his death on an overdose of mixed drugs and complications of severe heart disease. Presley was just 42-years-old and his cultural appeal still endures.
