Is Mayan Prophecy Starting to Happen Now?

Within the last few years we've been seeing movies about Armageddon, "end of days", and with recent events in the news and the whispers of 2012 approaching...is there signs that Mayan prophecy maybe right?

Perhaps!  But before we look at the evidence, let me brief you about the 2012 prophecy if you are one of the millions out there that are still confused.  Why is everyone including scientists and Hollywood making a big deal about the year 2012?  Well, the Solstice on December 21, 2012, precisely at 11:11 AM Universal Time, marks the completion of the 5,125 year "Great Cycle of the Ancient Maya Long Count Calendar".  The Mayan calendar, is an amazingly accurate and complex system for marking time.  Rather than being a linear end-point, this cycle that is closing is naturally followed by the start of a new cycle. What this new cycle has in store for humanity is a mystery that has yet to unfold...some believe something religious & mythical is going to happen, and some believe it's something more scientific that may determine days end or an abrupt event will happen that will change our environment, and majority of the masses think its a bunch of BULLS**T. Haha...  Let's briefly look at these below...

The Religious & Mythical Approach:
December 21, 2012 is the day of the Winter Solstice, and on that day something astronomical will happen and will not be seen again in any of our lifetimes. On that day, our sun will be precisely at a crossroads between Earth and the exact center of the Milky Way galaxy... the galactic equator. The Mayans called this the "Sacred Tree", giving us view of the Tree of Life and that a new cycle of life will begin. Which at this moment is uncertain what that means.

The Scientific Approach:
One theory suggests that a Magnetic Field shift will occur around this time, that the calendar was based on pole shifts, which have occurred repetitively throughout the Earths history. The Maya, understanding the time periods between these shifts created their Long Count Calendar around them and come up with the final date for the next pole shift. But how would they know what to look for to expect another shift? How much time was supposed to pass between these shifts and how did they know it? Was there a record passed down to them from long ago recounting a time when there was a prior pole shift so that mathematics could be used to predict the next one to come? Or did the ancients study a form of dendrochronology the study of climate changes by looking at tree rings.  Again that is uncertain.

Now that we know the basics of the Mayan prophecy, is there any clues suggesting something is going to happen or perhaps is this already happening.  Well until recently..YES!

Current Coincidental Evidence of 2012 Prophecy:

There has been recent mysterious deaths of birds and fish in the past month which is causing alarm among naturalists around the world. Birds are literally falling dead out of the sky, and fish are washing up dead on shores and rivers across North America and around the world.  And a few weeks ago, the Tampa International Airport had to close its primary runway to repaint the numeric designators at each end, why are those numeric designators being changed? Because the Earth's magnetic poles shifted and the numbers previously painted on the runway no longer match up with the magnetic measurements of sensitive airplane instruments.  The busiest runway will be re-designated 19R/1L on aviation charts from 18R/36L.  So is there something going on here?  Is it all coincidence? Or are these news events related? I guess that's your conclusion...the government won't say anything because they don't know what's going on either.

• Jan. 3, 2011 - Dozens of dead birds show up in a woman's backyard in Kentucky, unknown causes.
• Jan. 3, 2011 - Tens of thousands of dead fish wash ashore in Chesapeake Bay, Md., blamed on cold water.

• Jan. 11, 2011 - Thousands of gizzard shad fish float to the top of Lake Michigan and wash up on the shores near Chicago, blamed on cold weather.

Personally, I think something is definately happening in our world, could the birds and fish be on to something ­earlier than the rest of us.  What can it be?  Some scientists are brushing it off and saying it was fireworks or thunderstorm, and others are taken this to the extreme by saying it maybe biological warfare, or the New Madrid Fault earthquake zone — an area covering much of the U.S. mid-west and south, including Arkansas and Louisiana — is coming to life and releasing posioness gases into the environment, and the popular explanintion thus far...the Earth's magnetic field is shifting or flipping. This is called a geomagnetic reversal. In between these flips, the magnetic field can become quite weak and chaotic, causing "turbulence" in the field, which can effectively cause weaker gaps in the magnetosphere.  These magnetic gaps or weaknesses can allow outside influences that normally would not penetrate the magnetosphere to reach deep into that magnetosphere, theoretically all the way down to where birds fly at very low altitude.  And therefore the magnetosphere is allowing "poisonous space clouds" to enter deep into Earth's atmosphere where it is coming into contact with birds.  Now is there some evidence of the magnetic poles shifting...YES!  Magnetic Pole Flipping from North to South..NO! 

Scientists say the Earth's magnetic pole has been moving nearly 40 miles a year toward Russia because of magnetic changes in the core of the planet.  In fact in 2005, a National Geographic article has said that the pole has moved 685 miles (1,100 kilometers) over the over the past century from Arctic Canada toward Siberia.

So if the magnetic poles are shifting then what maybe the effects?
Here's what Wikipedia says about the implications of a polar shift: "The cataclysmic pole shift hypothesis is the conjecture that there have been rapid shifts in the relative positions of the modern-day geographic locations of the poles and the axis of rotation of a planet. For the Earth, such a dynamic change could create calamities such as floods and tectonic events. This type of event would occur if the physical poles had been or would be suddenly shifted with respect to the underlying surface over a geologically short time frame. This hypothesis is almost always discussed in the context of Earth, but other bodies in the Solar System may have experienced axial reorientation during their existences.

So in conclusion, I can't explain what is happening to our world but something is definately happening.  Birds don't just fall out of the sky for no reason.  There is an underlying cause that seems extremely important for us to observe, document and understand.  Until we figure out what is happening...all we can do is think about the Mayan prophecy..is it really telling us something is about to happen.  And if so...is it starting to happen now?  I guess we'll just have to wait and see.  Let's just hope it's another Y2K hype...that never happened.
