And the American Idol Winner is...

Lee DeWyze was crowned season nine's American Idol winner last night, just beating out Crystal Bowersox in a two-percent difference in the votes.  Upon hearing his name, DeWyze was shell shocked and teary eyed after being proclaimed the next American idol.  But DeWyze was able to compose himself and belt a rendition of "Beautiful Day" to close out the season.
 
Another highlight on Idol last night, was a farewell concert and tributes for Simon Cowell who is leaving the show to work on his own projects.  Among the many surprising acts, Paula Abdul also returned center stage to bid farewell to Simon and jokingly said she left Idol because she and Simon had a love child.
