Apple Inc. has issued a statement that Apple co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs has died on Wednesday. Jobs invented and masterfully marketed the cooler-gadgets that everyone wanted to have in which transformed everyday technology, from the personal computer to the iPod and iPhone. He was 56.
“We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today,” the company said in a brief statement.
“Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.”
Jobs' death, while dreaded by fans of Apple, was not unexpected. He had battled cancer for years, took a medical leave from Apple in January and stepped down as chief executive in August because he could "no longer meet (his) duties and expectations."
Jobs leaves behind his wife, Laurene, and five children. He will be missed...
